Closer and closer

Posted by NRG SVR in 100 MPG Challenge

It’s 8:30 pm, and I’m in North Sydney, awaiting a 6 am sailing to Argentia, NF. Going to pull an all-nighter since I have a reliable internet connection. (Thanks fatport.)

I had contemplated taking the 2330 sailing to Port-aux-Basques and driving, but the plan is the plan. There hasn’t been anything out of sync yet, so why mess with it?

I’m at a Tim Horton’s (again), and have quite a bit to do on the site tonight.

Nova Scotia went by far too quickly. I drove a small scenic route that runs semi-parallel to the main highway, and then decided to tempt fate and not fill when I had the chance at one point. I was driving on a solid 0.0 for about 35-40 kms. Thanks to Eddie in Edmonton for proving that you can! (Even though you shouldn’t.) For the smarties reading this - I set a record - I filled 25.248 litres. Not stellar mileage though. Only 594.6 kms. My mileage hasn’t been so great since Ontario. Wind out here is definately favouring the sleek Honda Insight. My carg0 doesn’t help at all of course.

I took a GPS guided tour of the shore around Sydney as the sun set, and did one geocache - so I’m closer to having found one in every province. The few that are missing I can get on the way back.

The sailing today was uneventful, if not a bit choppy. Small vessel. The sailing to Argentia is 16-17 hours, and I hear the vessel is quite large, so it should be smoother. Where’s the gravol? :-)

    Nice work Keith!

The most I ever hit was 23.5L, you sure know how to push it!
