Gathered in Gander

Posted by NRG SVR in 100 MPG Challenge

I’m in Gander right now. I’m staying at John Michael Lannon’s house - I just met him tonight - although he is a friend of one of the smart car owners I met on Sunday in Charlottetown. Strange story. I arrived in Gander around 6 pm, with no idea where I was to stay - just that I was staying here. I pulled into the North Atlantic station, and was approached by a fellow curious about my car and the graphics on it… more on that later…

Officially, I am on the way back home. I reached Mile 0 today in St Johns, and also went to Cape Spear - which was incredible, and incredibly windy. Well, it was windy everywhere. More on that later too…

    Keith,

Many congratulations on completing the outward leg of the tour! You are now officially a long way from home.
You have done much to promote the cause of fuel-efficiency and no doubt had a lot of fun along the way. As a fellow smart car owner the big message is anyone can do this here and now.
We enjoyed meeting you at Haugen’s Barbecue, near Port Perry, Ontario. We wish you a safe trip back to Abbotsford and cheaper diesel along the way.
    Best Regards
    Rupert & Annette Lloyd Thomas
