‘Marathon’ 3/4 complete in Marathon, ON
Friday, 6:45 PM
I’ve arrived in Marathon, ON, a town of 4700 people situated on the north shore of Lake Superior 300 kms east of Thunder Bay, and 400 kms west of Sault Ste. Marie. I will spend the night here and work on the website. Saturday doesn’t involve too much driving, and so I’ll likely stay here until noon hour.

I left Ottawa yesterday around 5 pm, and travelled almost as far as Espanola, taking in a quick tour of North Bay and Sudbury in the dark. Today I passed through Sault Ste. Marie in the early morning, but didn’t have time to stay long.

I spotted another smart car in Wawa that turned out to belong to a fellow named Larry from the Esso station, where I ended up getting my fuel.

I also came across a plaque I missed while travelling eastbound three weeks ago.

What this means, is that I am 3/4 of the way through the 100 MPG Challenge.
I’ve dropped into fuel economy mode again, and will soon review the days numbers to see how I am doing. There remain about 7-10 outstanding posts to update the site with, and tonight, I will sift through the hundreds of photos from my time at Transport Canada’s ATVP facility.
